INTRODUCTION by Jo Fernando
INTRODUCTION
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the land."
SOME POINTS:
- Indeed, the Greek work translated here as “meek” is often translated as “gentle.”
- Sometimes the English word “meek” is better, sometimes “gentle.” Clearly here the better translation is the word “meek.” But what does it mean? But what does it mean?
- The meek are those who let God take care of the business of being God.
- They are fully aware of evil, and do not crumble at the sight of it.
- The meek are strong.
- They are strong in faith. They are strong in prayer. They wait for God.
- They entrust their well being to God.
- Yes, they work hard, but they wait for God to deal with their enemies.
- They wait for God to deal with His enemies.
- The meek go about doing good, and trusting God to be God.
To inherit the land describes the TRUE IDENTITY AND SECURITY WHICH WE FIND IN GOD

Blessed are the meek,
for they Shall inherit the land
according to Matthew five Verse five
The meek have the gift
To bear all the hurts
And are not easily provoked to anger
They who gave GOD their loving trust
Obedience and Surrender
Are those who have a meek heart
A truly meek heart
CHORUS:
To “inherit the land” describes the true identity and security
Which we find in our loving father
The "land" promised in the beatitude
Describes a space in which the people can be themselves in freedom
Oh blessed are the meek
The land they shall inherit
The meek have the passion
To right the wrong and offer renewal to the
Wrongdoer
Being meek means to use power
For service, rendering possessions to empower
The poor (the poor)
Blessed meekness comes from a spirit
Which gets its gentleness from one united in God
United in God
CHORUS
